For over three years I have served as a professional writing tutor at a community college writing center working both online and in-person to assist students across the curriculum. Below is an outline of my relevant experiences and mission as a writing tutor. -Tutoring students in writing at every skill level across various disciplines. -Emphasis placed on student-centered, student-first, one-on-one tutoring sessions as well as group discussions. -Working to address students’ individual developmental needs and concerns to give them the best tools and advice to succeed in their writing and writing assignments. -Foster lively discussion with students about writing and goals during tutoring sessions. -Keep accurate and descriptive records of all tutorial sessions and consultations. -Engage in professional development activities such as conferences and research. -Assist students with computer needs on an individual basis. -Understanding students’ class assignments from across various disciplines. -Understand and maintain student confidentiality.
